Last one for now, I swear!
Aug. 26th, 2005 02:16 amI know, mom, I should be in bed, so I'll be all fresh and perky (HA! Like that'll EVER happen) for my optometrist appointment tomorrow--er, today, but I can't sleep and I've been thinking about posting this for the last several hours and I figure, why not do it now, try and get it out of my head so I can bloody well SLEEP! *cough* anywho, I have an author rec for you all. Don't you feel special? I'll spare your friends pages by putting the rec itself behind the cut, since I became rather long-winded. *sheepish*
Recently, I've joined the Magnificent Seven fandom. Not the movie with Yul Brenner (though I'm tempted to add it to my Netflix list), the TV show from 1999 with Eric Close (Without a Trace) as Vin Tanner and Michael Biehn (Terminator and The Rock) as Chris Larabee. I haven't seen any episodes (*SOBS*), but it looks like a good show from the episode transcripts and screen caps I've found online (Zen's Magnificent Seven Page is a good resource for transcripts, sound bites, and low quality caps).
( Long rec behind the cut, you've been warned! )
Since discovering Mag 7, thanks to
spikedluv, I've read a very good essay on the Chris/Vin pairing (with screen caps!) written by
true_enough and posted on the
ship_manifesto, entitled At First Sight. TrueEnough did a wonderful job pointing out moments from the show that support our OTP (One True Pairing), with quite a few screen caps to back up their opinion.
I must confess, I originally became interested in the show because I recognized Eric Close from Without A Trace, but I have come to appreciate the Magnificent Seven for its realistic characters, historical setting, and my own budding fascination for the time period. Of course, it does help that Eric and Michael are both hotties. XD
