Shapeshifter AU Challenge/Thon

Okay, so I was reading TheTenthMuse1's fantastic NCIS Wolfpack AU in which some of the characters can shapeshift into wolves. They're not werewolves: silver bullets kill them just like normal bullets, they're not controlled by the moon, they can't make other people shapeshifters by biting them, etc. Anyway, I was thinking I'd like to see something similar in other fandoms. It doesn't have to be wolves, the characters could shapeshift into fluffy little rabbits for all I care, I just want to see some shapeshifter AUs.

I'm a little undecided whether I want to run it from my journal or create a community for it. I'm leaning towards community so people can post the stories/links to the stories there and it'll be one archive where readers can find the fandom of their choice. I'm also considering opening it up to artists as well as writers, maybe even match up artists with writers.

jestana also brought up the idea of anthropomorphized animals. I'll probably leave that up to the author, with the mention of J.L. Langley's idea from her Without Reservations book where only really powerful Alphas can shift to a half-man/half-animal form.

Anyway, there's a poll under the cut. Please try and take the time to let me know your level of interest and feel free to post a link on your journals/any writing comms you frequent, I'd like to get as many artists/writers in on this as possible. I'll try not to be shy and post it on a couple communities, but I'm not necessarily into all the same fandoms as you guys, so please, pass on the word, I'd really like to get as many fandoms in on this as possible to give readers a wider range of stories to read.
